The Disaster Preparedness for Home & Business (3.5 hrs) What would you do if you lost electricity for an extended period of time or couldn't leave your home because of inclimate weather conditions? What would your priorities be? There are numerous possibilities of man-made or natural disasters that should require you to develop a personal and business emergency action plan. What has Katrina, the California wildfires and the blizzard conditions across America taught us and what preparations have you taken to deal with true survival scenarios at home, school, workplace, or while driving from one place to another? The Disaster Preparedness for Home & Business course will discuss how to develop an emergency action plan that will increase your chance of survival during small emergencies and large scale disasters. The objective of this course is not to increase fear and anxiety about domestic and foreign issues; however it is focused on decreasing anxieties by making the participant knowledgeable in identifying the necessities of life, collecting and using supplies in everyday activities in order to reduce wasting items because of expiration, and taking care of our furry family members.
