This course is designed to teach CERT teams the basic foundation of search philosophy for ground search and rescue incidents. The program provides awareness level knowledge that would make the CERT group a practical resource utilized at the missing person incident while allowing each member to have a clear understanding of the crucials of search, components and anatomy of the search incident, subject behavioral profiles, and hazard profile assessment.
The course will explain the various kinds and types of search and rescue resources available to assist during these types of incidents. The course also addresses the steps that should be taken during the initial phase of searching for missing persons.
Actual case scenarios involving CERT in search and rescue incidents will be discussed during the program.
