On Wednesday, March 2, 2005 Eric Martin and Over the Edge, Inc. attended an award ceremony for the NYC Urban Park Service. We were extremely honored to be among honored guests and distinguished award recipients.

We at Over the Edge support the men and women of our armed services, placing their lives in harms way while protecting our country. We wish them a safe and swift return home!
Basic Rope Rigging & Rescue (40 hrs)

Our Basic Rope Rigging and Rescue class is designed to teach you what you need to know to ascend and descend on a rope while maintaining your personal safety. A strong foundation of rope techniques, competent utilization of knots bends hitches and proper rope nomenclature are stressed throughout the program.

Topics include:
  • Ideal fall factors
  • Fall protection
  • Twisting and straight pass friction devices
  • Self rescue techniques
  • Passing bends
  • Various belay techniques which include:
    • Body belay
    • Slot
    • Stitched plate belay
    • "Munter" hitch belay
    • Prusik belay
Understanding the physics and philosophies behind basic rope systems will make the student more confident and comfortable on rope.

Attention EMS Personnel:

Upon completion of this course you will be eligible for (30) elective CEU credits from the New Jersey Dept. of Health - Office of Emergency Services NJDOH OEMS.
